A Trek up Mount Inari
A downloadable experience for Windows
I had the opportunity to travel to Japan with my University for two weeks, during which time we went to the Fushimi Inari Shrine and the rest of Mt. Inari. There are 12,000 steps up the mountain, surrounded by 10,000 Torii.
Being not in the best of health, it was a struggle for me. At some point in the trek I had the realization that I need to go at my own pace, and to run to catch up with those I came with would be futile. I think in some aspects this can be applied to life as well, that one can only do what they can, everyone moves through life at different paces.
This game is a representation of that journey. Take your time, and climb all 12,000 procedurally generated steps.

It is nice to pass through many torii gates, a little mysterious, like being in another world. I have never been to Fushimi Inari Shrine, but I would like to visit it someday.
It was quite difficult when I was climbing up, but I was deeply moved by the feeling that perhaps this feeling is an expression of the honest feelings the author actually had when she went to Fushimi Inari Shrine. It was fun to see the actual pictures taken after climbing the 12,000 steps!
And I heard that the actual Fushimi Inari Shrine has about 1,200 steps and 1,000 torii gates. Sorry for ruining your memories...
i might of broken the game, the stairs dont generate as fast as the player walks, i was able to out run the stairs as they slowed down in generation still it was fun to out run the stairs generating
Thanks for checking it out! I did accidentally leave the player speed too high, and I've put out a new version to correct it as well as fix a bug with saving.
